We’ve started a technology blog discussing topical technology items on the hardware and software we provide. We’ve also started a technical architecture blog. The contents are guaranteed to be useful if it’s the technology blog, or thought-provoking if it’s the architecture blog. They’re just a click away - at this link or at the link at the top of this home page.

Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD), One-to-One and Other Interesting Requirements

Many of our clients are K-12 systems, and it’s vogue to embrace these new paradigms in the name of education improvement. All too often there’s no discussion of the ramifications of such a move (hey, doesn’t anyone consult the technology director anymore?). Well, we understand that this will be the future of most educational establishments, and for that matter most commercial ones. We’re already involved with several one-to-one projects, and we’re coming out with a set of packages that include the required network improvements, monitoring and management systems, with security wrapped around it all. We can take anyone’s existing networks and adjust them to support this completely new and foreign type of computing paradigm. Ask us about this!

The Non-Stop Data Center

It’s possible to design a low-cost data center that’s not only survivable, but totally and truly nonstop. You can build special features into this data center to support disaster recovery and easy and flawless capacity increases. These data centers now mostly run themselves, leaving you to handle the more uplifting parts of your job. People with millions of dollars to spend on computing have been able to enjoy this for years; it’s now possible for almost anyone to build a Fortune 500-class survivable and distributed data center, with all of the bells and whistles, on a much smaller budget.

Check-In to the Intelligent Management Center (IMC)

It’s finally possible to monitor and manage networks comprised of different manufacturers’ network equipment from a single management application. And you can monitor servers, VMware and other devices as well. You can also model your data centers so that you get a picture of the equipment in the racks, the operating status prominently displayed. All of this comes in the basic management package, and you can add MPLS management, network access control and scanning/remediation, and several other management and control modules.

The Magic Bus Gets a New Cover

The old familiar blue-and-white striped bus will get a brand-new skin in the early part of 2012. So when it pulls up to your place to show off the technologies discussed and demoed at this website you’ll see a completely new look, centered around all of these new technologies on display. There’ll even be a homage to the cosmic past. Look for it at shows and at your own place when you’d like a private demo.

A New Support Program

MXN is growing up all the time, and a part of that growth is to organize our support to better serve our customers’ needs. We have a new tiered support program that starts at a low-cost but comprehensive option that bundles manufacturer support with MXN support, and grows from there to more comprehensive support programs. Contact us if you’d like a visit to chat about it, or if you’d just like us to send you a support planning document.

Manufacturer Information Resource

We had a couple links to Hewlett-Packard networking and server and storage information, and Fortinet demos-on-demand on our old website. We have decided to consolidate these into a single resource area, and you can get to it by selecting the ‘Resources’ link at the top of our web pages. By consolidating this we can make room for more manufacturers. Expect resource areas from Meru Networks and Mitel to join the Hewlett-Packard and Fortinet ones in the near future.
